Compressed sensing and repair of over-parameterized models & Balancing treatment and control groups to improve estimates of treatment effects

This colloquium will consist of two short talks by colleagues from Statistics and Data Science, as part of an initiative to strengthen ties between our departments.

Dr. John Lafferty will talk about “Compressed sensing and repair of over-parameterized models”, and Dr. Dan Spielman will talk about “Balancing treatment and control groups to improve estimates of treatment effects.”
