Susan Nolen-Hoeksema Postdoctoral Associate in Integrative Psychology 

The Yale Psychology Department is pleased to announce a Postdoctoral Associate position in honor of Professor Susan Nolen-Hoeksema that has been endowed by her husband, Richard Nolen-Hoeksema. Each Susan Nolen-Hoeksema Postdoctoral Associate in Integrative Psychology is for a one-year initial appointment, with the possibility of renewal. Eligible applicants must have a PhD in Psychology or a related field by the start date. Applications in any area of psychology are encouraged, especially from candidates with research interests that are integrative across areas and levels of analysis and applicable to one or more domains of psychopathology or its treatment (i.e., areas in which Professor Nolen-Hoeksema took special interest). Applicants for the initial position, to begin July 1, 2026, should identify one or more Yale faculty members with whom they desire to work during the term of the appointment and include a research statement (three pages max, excluding references), curriculum vitae, two writing samples, and letters of recommendation from two to three individuals familiar with the applicant’s research background and promise. The research statement should describe your research interests, summarize prior research experiences, skills, and achievements, and describe future directions and goals for postdoctoral training. Assistant Professor, Clinical Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Yale University invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology position to start on July 1, 2026. Applications can be from those whose research programs fit into any area of clinical psychology. The successful applicant will be expected to teach a service course (a broader psychology course) and/or a smaller seminar (often on the topic of their choosing). Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, Social Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Yale University invites applications for an open rank Professor (assistant professor, associate professor with tenure, or full professor) in the area of Social Psychology, beginning July 1, 2026. This position is open to all sub-areas in Social Psychology including, but not limited to, attitudes and social cognition, decision-making, intergroup relations and group processes, interpersonal & close relationships, emotion, motivation, the self & identity, etc. The successful applicant will be expected to teach a service course (a broader psychology course) and a smaller seminar (often on the topic of their choosing). This position is especially suited for a scholar with interests that afford collaboration with faculty in the other areas of our department (cognitive, developmental, clinical, and neuroscience), and/or with scholars in other schools and disciplines at Yale, such as the School of Public Health, School of Medicine, Jackson School, Law School, and African American Studies. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated record of conducting rigorous, innovative, and impactful research, a commitment to teaching and mentoring at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, and a desire to work in a dynamic, diverse, and collaborative environment.

Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, Quantitative Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Yale University invites applications for an open-rank (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) tenure-track faculty appointment with a focus on applying advanced quantitative methods to key questions in psychology, beginning July 1, 2026. We are interested in scholars who can help advance social science research in social, developmental, or clinical subfields of psychology by developing and employing novel analytical techniques and methods. The ideal candidate would be instrumental in building bridges between Psychology, the Department of Statistics and Data Science, and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Data-Intensive Social Science Initiative. We are looking for someone who has a strong program of research in social, developmental, or clinical psychology and applies sophisticated or novel quantitative methods to their research. For example, a developmental psychologist who advances research by modeling of longitudinal and multilevel data structures, a social psychologist who applies structural data to individual-level analysis, a social psychologist who employs dynamic systems modeling, a clinical psychologist who focused on ideographic analyses, and so on. These are just a few examples. Ultimately, we seek to find a colleague who uses and advances our understanding of psychological questions with sophisticated methods. We hope this person will contribute effectively to research, as well as, the undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentoring programs of the University. The successful applicant will be expected to teach a general psychology methods course and/or one methods related to their area of expertise. The successful applicant will be expected to teach at least one undergraduate course. Priority will be given to assistant professor-level candidates who are outstanding scholars.
