Shirley Wang, currently in the Ph.D. program at Harvard University, will join the faculty of Yale’s Psychology Department as an Assistant Professor in summer 2024. Shirley’s research examines why people engage in behaviors that are harmful to themselves, including eating disorder behaviors, nonsuicidal self-injury, and suicide. Her work combines laboratory-based behavioral experiments, real-time monitoring, large-scale longitudinal studies with mathematical and computational modeling.
