Ilker Yildirim has been selected as one of 36 scientists and engineers from 30 research institutions to receive a Young Investigator Research Program Award (YIP) from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR). The YIP is awarded to Ph.D.-level researchers at United States research institutions who have shown exceptional ability and promise for conducting basic research of military interests in the last seven years. Ilker’s research proposal is to explore “Computational architecture of high-level attention: Reverse-engineering representations and goals that drive seeing in complex, dynamic environments.” The award comprises a three-year grant totaling $450,000.
