Established in 1991, the P.E.O. Scholar Awards are presented annually to 100 outstanding doctoral students from the United States and Canada. These awards recognize individuals for their high academic achievement and their potential to make a positive impact on society.
The P.E.O. Sisterhood, founded on January 21, 1869, at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, is a philanthropic educational organization committed to supporting women’s higher education. The Sisterhood includes nearly 6,000 local chapters across the United States and Canada, with nearly a quarter of a million active members.
