April Bailey investigates social cognition and intergroup relations. Much of her work focuses on gender. She investigates how gender organizes the way we think about and act toward others. In one line of research, she investigates the androcentric tendency to default to thinking of people as men. She also investigates concepts, essentialism, moral psychology, person perception, nonverbal behavior, power, and intergroup relations more broadly. April received her PhD in Psychology from Yale University. She received her BA from Colgate University, double majoring in Psychology and Women’s Studies.
