Sunny is a graduate student in Clinical Psychology. Her research focuses primarily on the neural, affective, and behavioral correlates of reward and positive emotion processing, and the alterations in these systems that contribute to psychopathology. Her dissertation work employs fMRI to study monetary and social reward processing in bipolar disorder, and examines the ways that neural reactivity to rewards may predict changes in symptoms prospectively. Additional graduate research has examined the nature of anger in bipolar disorder and its role in cognitive performance, the impact of mania symptoms on empathic accuracy, and the neural correlates of positive and negative emotion regulation in bipolar disorder.
