
The Yale Psychology Department was on the medal stand several times at last weekend's 2012 American Psychological Association convention! Five current or former members of the department were given major awards. Kelly Brownell won the Award for Outstanding Lifetime Contributions to Psychology AND the Distinguished Scientific Award for the Applications of Psychology. Laurie Santos won the Distinguished Scientific Award for Early Career Contributions to Psychology. Jack Dovidio won the Donald T. Campbell Award from the Society for Personality and Social Psychology (Division 8 of APA). And two PhD graduates from the department also won major awards: Bethany Teachman (currently on the faculty of University of Virginia) won the Distinguished Scientific Award for Early Career Contributions to Psychology. Cybele Raver (currently on the faculty and Vice Provost at NYU) won the Distinguished Scientific Award for Applications of Psychology to Education and Training. Great going, team!
